Fronted by the arresting figure of Hamburg-born chanteuse Billie Ray Martin, Electribe 101 took critics and fans by storm with their landmark 1990 debut album Electribal Memories. With a sound that was a perfect blend of chilly electro-pop, soulful deep house and widescreen 60s film soundtracks, the album delivered a string of classic singles, including ‘Talking With Myself’, ‘Tell Me When The Fever Ended’ and ‘You’re Walking’. It was undeniably one of the most influential albums of its era.
